In love with the brain

img-20180429-wa0002-1553237469.jpgI bet you’ve heard this term before but could not figure out what it means. Let’s dot the “I’s” and cross the “T’s”.

Sapiophile is quite a common species. Do you recall the scene from ‘La Casa de Papel’ when Tokyo enters Professor’s room and sits right in front of him? Playing with her glass and almost spilling wine on the carpet, she looks right in his eyes and confesses:

– Some women love men’s worked-out butts while others adore their huge shoulders, arms or back. Me? I’m turned on by the intellect.

– Well, this phenomenon is rather widespread among intellectuals.

Those of you who are experts in Spanish shouldn’t rush to conclusions – sapiophilia has nothing to do with toads.*

Sapiophile comes from Greek: sapient means “wisdom”, phile – “loving”.

As you might have already guessed, sapiophile finds intellect attractive and sexy. You may feel it towards both men and women. Gender does not matter that much to sapiophiles so bisexuals are quite common among them.

Are you a sapiophile too? Do you feel sexually aroused when someone talks about philosophy or solves mathematical equations? Maybe you know someone like that? Feel free to let me know in the comments.

* sapo = toad (in Spanish).
